There’s one distinctive sound that immediately tells you that you’re right by the sea… not the sound of waves washing up the sandy shore. Too easy. It’s up in the air, floating around, swelling and falling like a decent set of waves would do… Got it? Right. It’s the sound of seagulls. Picture that for a minute. Can you hear those wirily birds screaming for food.
Waking up to the unmistakable hoot of a bunch of seagulls for the first time in my new home was a moment to remember. Reassuring and comforting, although at this stage of my one year endeavor everything was still way up in the air.
